Summer camp hosted at University campus concludes

According to the organisers, maximum number of participants had enrolled for cricket and football. Around 140 kids underwent coaching in respective sports, during the month-long summer camp.

Speaking about the importance of the summer camp, Charan, a budding cricket player, said that the camp helped him understand the importance of being professional.

He added that the coaching on technical aspects during the camp helped him become a better player.

Mentioning that she was earlier playing badminton only on the streets with friends in the neighbourhood, player Sejal said that the summer camp had helped her understand the rules of the game.

While a large number of parents had turned up to watch their wards receiving certificates, Basavanna, a parent, urged elders to support children until they reached their goal. He said that the camp acted as a platform for inculcating discipline among students.

The Institute of Education Trustee M Puttaswamy, Pioneer Sports Proprietor K C Prasanna, Physical Education Department, University of Mysore, Director Dr C Krishna
and others were present.
