Suo motu case against 200 people

Lakshmipuram police on Sunday registered a suo motu case against more than 200 people for allegedly burning books carrying photographs of Hindu gods during a protest.

The police booked cases against Harohalli Ravindra, Avinash, Srinivas Prasad, Sunil Kumar and others. They had allegedly staged a protest at Ballal Circle on Saturday night against a group for burning a copy of Indian Constitution during a protest in Delhi.

During the protest, they had burnt the books carrying the photographs of the Hindu gods.

The police have filed case against them as they hurt the sentiment of the people.
