SWR, B'lore division earns Rs 1,003 cr

Speaking on the occasion of the 56th Railway Week Celebrations he said a large portion of this revenue was from passengers (Rs 750 crore) with coaching (Rs 94 cr), goods (Rs 91 cr) and sundries (Rs 68 cr) close behind.

The division had received safety shield and accidents had considerably reduced. Around 175 staff members and 25 teams were given divisional level awards. Divisional level rolling shields were handed to nine departments.

Dr N Prabhudev, vice chancellor, Bangalore University, who was the chief guest, said that Indian railways was one sector that could never be privatised.
