Students take part in a fancy dress competition organised as a part of Prathibha Karanji competitions at the Government Kannada Higher Primary School at Adishaktinagara Layoutin Chikkamagaluru on Saturday.

Zilla Panchayat and Department of Public Instruction organised taluk-level Prathibha Karanji competitions for higher primary and lower primary school students at Government Kannada Higher Primary School at Adishaktinagara Layout in the city on Saturday.

Schoolchildren from 25 clusters took part in various competitions.

Folk dance, Kolata, fancy dress, quiz, drawing, reciting religious texts, Kannada, Hindi and English recitation, elocution, storytelling, singing devotional songs, clay modelling and other competitions were held.

Inaugurating the programme, Zilla Panchayat Standing Committee on Health and Education chairperson Jacintha Anil Kumar said Prathibha Karanji competition provides a platform for the students to bring out their hidden talent.

She called upon the students to take part in the extracurricular activities.
