Informing this at a press meet here on Wednesday, Vasanth Marate representing Sacred Hearts High School said as many as 2,000 athletes from 170 schools coming under the block will take part in the event.
District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar will inaugurate the meet. Bethany educational institution corporate manager Sr Mariet will hoist the flag. Taluk Panchayat President Ramachandra Kumpala, Corporation Bank DGM M G Bhandarkar and entrepreneur Roy Castelino will be chief guests. Mayor M Shanker Bhat will preside.
The valedictory of the meet will be held at 4 pm on October 30. Corporator Mariamma Thomas will preside. MLA U T Khader, entrepreneurs Rohan R Monteiro, Lancy D’Souza will be chief guests, Marate informed.
Taluk Physical Education Teachers’ Association President A Nagesh, Sacred Heart High School head Sr Winjoy, sports organising secretary Plavia Pais, teacher Victor Bernard were present at the press meet.
