Task force formed to solve infrastructural woes in DKInteractive session with FKCCI chief

The decision was made during an interactive session on ‘Issues an challenges before trade and industry in Dakshina Kannada district’ with FKCCI President J Crasta at KCCI Exim Facilitation Centre here on Monday. Accordingly, the task force which consists of 4 members from FKCCI and 4 from KCCI, will be directly responsible for the action taken regarding repair and upgradation works of roads in Dakshina Kannada district including National and State Highways, carriage way from Bajpe airport to Udupi and Shirady ghat section.

KCCI President Srinivas Kamath submitted a memorandum to J Crasta requesting FKCCI’s help in solving some of the major problems that ail the district. The memorandum requests FKCCI members to patronise NMPT and use it for their export activities instead of Chennai or Kochi. It requested the FKCCI to take up the issues like completion of the rail stretch from Shravanabelagola to Bangalore, separate railway division in Mangalore, doubling of lines leading to NMPT, uninterrupted power supply and other issues concerning industry, taxes, SSIs, MSMEs, finance and labour laws.

Discussing on the extension of Yeshwantpur- Mangalore day train to Kannur, he urged Mangaloreans not to let the train run to Kannur at any cost. He extended the help of FKCCI in the mission. 

Earlier in his address, Crasta pointed out that coldstorages, general engineering works, automobile service units, tourism related activities, plastic industries etc have great scope in Mangalore.

FKCCI Vice President N S Srinivasa Moorthy, President of Kanara Small Industries Association K Jayaraj Pai, KCCI Honorary Treasurer Latha R Kini and Secretaries B Chandrakanth Rao and Mohammed Ameen were present on the occasion.
