Teacher arrested for burglary in Mysuru

Mysuru city police arrested a school teacher for his alleged involvement in a burglary in the city.

Syed Tajmul (31) is the accused. Police said that he robbed gold ornaments worth Rs 25 lakh and cash, from a house in Rajeev Nagar in Mysuru recently.

The police said, Tajmjul allegedly robbed the house of Ilyas Baig, owner of N I Carvery Emporium, on November 17, when the family members were out attending a function.

Tajmul allegedly opened the main door of the house using a duplicate key, and looted 639 grams gold and Rs 1 lakh cash. The stolen items were recovered from a bank safe locker in Gundlupet. Police recovered the gold and Rs 60,000 in cash.
