Teacher freed in Libya to reach Hyderabad today

Lakshmikanth, the teacher from Raichur, who was freed from abduction by Islamic State militants in Libya, is expected to reach Hyderabad on Tuesday afternoon.

Lakshmikanth and Vijayakumar who were at the Indian Embassy in Sirte until Sunday were brought to Tunisia on Monday. They will return to India via Dubai or Doha.

Lakshmikanth contacted his family through phone on Monday. He was at the Indian Embassy in Tunisia. He told them that he would try to get on the next plane back to India.

Lakshmikanth’s wife Dr Prathibha has been in touch with friends in Sirte through phone calls, messages and Facebook.
