This was announced at a media briefing on Friday by association president Dr C Sharathkumar.
Students in the age group of 23 or below are eligible to participate in the contest. Provision has been made for 32 teams to enroll for the tourney. The entry fee is fixed at Rs 500 per team and April 10 is the last date for registration, said Sharathkumar.
The winners will be eligible for Rs 3000 cash prize, and runner-up Rs 2,000. That apart, those who display their skills in the categories of batting, bowling, fielding and also overall performance will be rewarded for every match. The matches will be played at Coffee Board Ground, at Manasagangotri.
Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice-chancellor Prof K S Rangappa will inaugurate the tourney. Mayor Sandesh Swamy will be the chief guest.
That apart, a charity match to raise funds to help physically challenged has been organised on April 17. Following teams will play the matches- Mediwave Masters captained by Dr C Sharath Kumar, Mysore Masters captained by P B Chandrashekar,
Mysore Warriors captained by Vijendra S and JCE Riders captained by Prof M J Sampath Kumar. DCP (law and order) Basavaraj Malagathi and journalist Vikram Muththanna are among the chief guests on the day.
