A teenager was killed in an elephant attack in Kodagathivalli in Alur taluk on Sunday.
The deceased Bharath (14), was a Class 8 student at a private school in Hassan. He had come to his grandmother's house in the village to celebrate Sankranthi festival.
According to sources, Bharath was playing in front of the house on Sunday morning when a tusker appeared suddenly, lifted the boy and battered him to death. The villagers' efforts to save the boy went in vain as the tusker was very violent.
