Syed Simran, 15, son of Syed Fayaz, a mechanic, of Rajendra Nagar is the victim.
A student of SSLC at St Mathias, in Bannimantap, he was not able to attend English exams, owing to fever.

Hence, when the results were announced recently, he had failed in the exams. He had scored good marks in the remaining papers.

Kidnap episode

Simran told Deccan Herald that he was on his way to write English supplementary exams on June 16 around 9 am, when a Maruti van stopped in front of him near Bibi Ayesha Milli Hospital.

A  stranger told him that his (Simran) father had asked for a few materials. Simran claimed innocence about his dad’s request.

“I was forced into the van all of a sudden. There were four including the driver inside. While one was sitting beside the driver, another was holding him and there was another in the rear seat keeping a watch,” Simran recalled about the incident.

Force fed

He was forcibly fed a liquid, which according to Simran was silver coloured. As the van slowed down near a road hump, Simran seized the opportunity and opened the door to escape from his assailants. He ran  and somehow reached his friend’s house in Rajiv Nagar.

Aunt’s help

An aunt of Simran who lives near by, rushed to his help and admitted the latter to CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital.

According to PFI activist Ameen Sait, the jurisdictional N R police initially did not receive the complaint.

Complaint

It was only when the media came to the rescue that the police took the complaint on Saturday.

However, the police have denied the allegations, stating that the sub-inspector had attended to the complaint subsequently.
