Telemetric rain gauges for all GPs

Speaking to reporters in Bangalore he said telemetric rain gauges installed in 744 hobli headquarters and 100 Gram Panchayats on a pilot basis have proved to be effective in updating government agencies and farmers with authenticated data on rainfall patterns, including floods and drought.

The Central Government will set up a National Nano Research Centre in Bangalore at a cost of Rs 100 crore, he said and added that a 14-acre plot has been identified off Tumkur Road for the campus. He said his department has taken several initiatives at a cost of Rs 10 crore to popularise science among children.
