Three rape girl on way to college

A minor girl, on her way to college, was allegedly gang-raped by three persons at Itnal village in Raibag taluk on Tuesday. She has been admitted to a private hospital at Harugeri in Raibag.

Police said, the 17-year-old victim used to cycle from Itnal to Raibag and from there, make it to the college at Mudalgi in Gokak taluk by bus.

While on her way to the college, three accused identified as Satyappa Birappa Dange, Suresh Shivappa Dange and Yamanappa Rajapur waylaid her on the outskirts of Itnal and gang-raped her.

 She was later dumped in a dried well in an unconscious condition. Among the accused, Satyappa Dange too was student of the same college as the victim.
 Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil visited the victim at the hospital. 

Admitted to hospital

He said family members of the victim, while admitting her to the hospital, had informed that she had fallen from the bicycle. After the victim regained consciousness late on Wednesday, she informed them of the ordeal and police registered a rape case.
