Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC have been clamped in the district from 6 am on November 8 till 6 am on Nov 11, ahead of Tipu Jayanti celebrations.
However, the ban order will not be applicable to the venues of Tipu Jayanti celebrations organised by the state government.
Deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that several organisations have opposed Tipu Jayanti and they may stage a protest on the day. The ban order has been issued to prevent any untoward incident and to maintain law and order, she said.
