The Karnataka High Court has reserved its order in connection with a petition filed by Vishwa Hindu Parishat leader Praveen Togadia, who has been restricted from entering the State.

Togadia had moved the court challenging the State government’s notification banning him from entering the State. He was scheduled to participate in Virat Hindu Samajotsava in Udupi, Mysuru and other places. He had stated that the government order, restricting his movement and ban on his speech, amounts to violation of Freedom of Speech granted under the Constitution. The State, defending the ban, said that it is necessary to ensure communal harmony.
