People relished tasty dishes on the occasion of the month of Aati, at the CSI Shanti Church premises in Madikeri, on Sunday.

The programme was organised by Church committee, Mahila Okkoota and Yuvajana Okkoota.

The menu comprised of 35 items including ‘patrode’, ‘maddu payasa’, ‘kesu dantina pacchudi’, ‘kanile’, ‘tambuli’, and other non-vegetarian delicacies prepared out of fish and crabs.

CSI Dakshina Prantya Mahila Anyonya Koota President Dr Prema Sarojini said that the food items prepared during the month of Aati play a significant role in maintaining health during the rainy season.

The special food provides immunity. During this month, people are affected by various diseases. Therefore, it is ensured that food rich in medicinal values is used.

Fr Amrit Raj, Rev Sandhya, Church office-bearers Asha James, Suyog, Priyadarshini, Rani Ranjit and Preetu Richard were present.
