They said “Kodagu is an agrarian society. For the job, labourers have to go to far off estates. As there are shortage of labourers in the district, the labourers need to be transported to Suntikoppa, Siddapura, Madapura, Kushalanagara, Palibetta, Chettalli, Ammathi, Thithimathi and Gonikoppal.”
Some of the unemployed youths have become drivers. However, in the recent days, police and RTO have started seizing the jeep which transport labourers. If the authorities fail to take measures within 10 days, protest will be intensified, they warned.
