A student was killed when a train hit her while she was crossing the railway track, at Thokkottu on the outskirts of Mangaluru on Wednesday.
The deceased is Tabussum (23), daughter of Mohammed Kunhi, a resident of Kankanady in Mangaluru.
She was the student of a pharmacy college in Deralakatte.
She was returning home from college after checking her results when the mishap occurred.
The Ullal Police and Railway Protection police visited the spot.
