Karnataka State Road Transport Employees Federation Vice President I S Madwal said on Monday that the employees of transport corporations in Karnataka including NWKRTC were not supporting the bandh.

Public and private transport agencies operated normally as none of the motor transport unions of Belagavi supported the bandh call given to protest the Motor Vehicle Transport Amendment Bill 2017 on Tuesday.

North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) buses plying both within and outside the city, operated normally.

Private transport including maxi-cabs operated in the city and in the taluks where the impact of bandh was nil. Buses operating normally came as big relief to commuters. Hundreds of students use the city bus services to commute to schools and colleges. Auto-rickshaws functioning normally also came as relief to the parents as students of primary schools commute in autos.
