The Lokayukta (rural) police have arrested a tahsildar, a second division assistant and another person for demanding and accepting bribe.
The accused are Kotresh H, tahsildar, Nagaraju K, SDA, both from Hoskote taluk and Muniyappa who accepted the bribe on behalf of the government servants.
H Madhu from Bagalur had filed an application at the Hoskote tahsildar’s office for conversion of his land measuring 6.34 acres at Bagalur. Kotresh and Nagaraju demanded a bribe of Rs 2.24 lakh for the work. A case was registered and a trap was laid.
The Lokayukta police caught Muniyappa red-handed accepting Rs 2.24 lakh. The tahsildar tried to escape, but when Lokayukta police chased him down. The trio will be produced before the magistrate.
