City Crime Branch police conducted a raid on a godown and seized 600 bags of rice, allegedly illegally stored and meant for distribution under the public distribution system at Jatpat colony and have arrested two persons in this connection on Monday.
The police have also seized property, worth Rs 12 lakh, including a truck that was used for transportation of the rice. The arrested have been identified as Shekhar Kabate of Jatpat colony and Kiran Dileep Patil of Kolhapur in Maharashtra. The CCB police, led by Inspector Gururaj Kalyanashetty, busted the racket, Police Commissioner Lokesh Kumar said.
