Two persons, who had looted money from innocent people by allegedly misusing the name of District In-charge Minister Sa Ra Mahesh, have been arrested by Madikeri police in Udagamandalam (Ooty) in Tamil Nadu.
The arrested have been identified as Mubarak and Syed Khalil from Anekal.
Sources in Town police station said several months ago, the accused had cheated one Shivalingaiah from Kushalnagar of rupees one lakh under the pretext of preparing documents related to a land.
A special team was formed for the arrest of the accused, who were at large.
During the investigation, police came to know that the duo had cheated people in more than 10 places by claiming themselves to be personal assistants of Sa Ra Mahesh.
