A boat belonging to Nazir Ahmed Kasim with 12 fishermen on-board capsized. All the fishermen managed to swim ashore.
Two engines of the boat got washed away into the sea, while a third engine was severely damaged causing a total damage of Rs 2.30 lakh.
In another incident on Saturday evening, a boat belonging to Lakshmana Nagappa also capsized. Seven men on-board managed to swim to safety. Kumta police said the owner has incurred a loss of Rs 1.50 lakh.
