The deceased have been identified as S G Ponnappa (30) of Sampigedalu and S C Hriday (17).
The duo were bound to Sampigedalu in two-wheeler when a van hit them from behind.
Speed and careless driving by van driver led to the mishap. Van driver has fled the spot. A case has been registered.
Villagers took Circle Inspector Krishnaiah to task who arrived on the spot.
