The pelican that took ill recently, at Kokkarebellur Bird Sanctuary, near Bharathinagar, Mandya district died on Friday.
Two more pelicans have died at Kokkarebellur Bird Sanctuary and Madarahalli, near here on Friday. A pelican that took ill and fell from a tree recently, died on Friday.
Speaking to DH, Hejjarle Balaga president B Lingegowda said, "The sick pelican was fed with jaggery water and medicines. But it did not respond to the treatment and died."
At Madarahalli, a villager noticed the carcass of a pelican floating in the lake and informed the Veterinary department officials.
Veterinarians Dr L Hanumegowda and Dr Manohar rushed to the spot and buried the carcass, after sending the viscera for testing.
