Ahead of elections for urban local bodies, the district administration has banned sales of alcohol from Thursday 7 am to Friday midnight.
The authorities also banned sales from midnight of September 2 to September 3 midnight, on the day of vote counting.
City Police Commissioner Dr A S Rao and Superintendent of Police Amit Singh has ordered prohibitory orders at respective jurisdiction.
In addition, the police also deputed adequate police security to ensure free and fair elections.
