Unidentified body found, murder suspected

There are strong suspicion that the man must have been murdered. The villagers saw the body floating in a pit filled with water. They promptly informed the rural police.

The dead body in the inner wear has injuries on various parts of the body. The police suspect that the man must have been killed somewhere and the body must have been disposed off at Punchame. Since the body had started putrefying, the police feel that the man must have been killed at least five days ago.

Puttur ASP Dr Rohini Katoch, Circle Inspector K Nanjunde Gowda, ASI K Anand among others were present.

Burglary

In a day time burglary incident, the robbers have broke into a house in Puttur and made away with seven sovereign gold and cash on Thursday. They entered the house belonging to Thimmappaih located in Nehru Nagar between 10 am to 2.30 pm when the members of the house were out for work.

According the to police sources, the miscreants broke the door of the first floor of the house and gained entry to the bed room. They have taken away gold and the cash worth Rs 2.50 lakh from the cup board.
