Delivering the presidential address at a May Day celebration programme organised by the Construction Workers Association here on Saturday, she said that only rich people are given priority in education and health sectors due to privatisation. Poor and working class are being neglected completely, she said adding that the future of poor labourers will be in distress.

Bharatiya Mahila Okkoota Convener Jyothi said that the movement of labourers should be intensified. Protection should be provided for labourers, who serve in all sectors, she added. Drivers Association Vice President Subramanya, AIYF Leader Periyaswamy, Construction Workers Association Secretary Krishnamoorthi, Joint Secretary Purushotham and Gowdahalli Prassanna were present.
