According to a notification from the Governor, the tenure for the post of Vice Chancellor will be four years or till he attains the age of 65.
Prof Shivashankara Murthy succeeds by Prof K K Achary, senior most Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology at Mangalore University, who was appointed as the acting vice-chancellor with effect from January 12, 2010, after Dr K M Kaveriappa, VC, MU, retired on January 11, 2010.
