The vice-chancellors of Karnataka govt-run universities have been directed to complete the vaccination process of students by July 7.
Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan told this to the vice-chancellors at a meeting on Thursday. The ongoing vaccination drive for students, teaching and non-teaching staff touched the 2,58,069 figure as of June 30.
He also informed the vice-chancellors that the reopening of offline classes depends on the success rate of the vaccination drive for students.
"If needed, the deadline can be extended for 2 to 3 days more. But the vice-chancellors should ensure that all students are vaccinated," the minister said.
