Village accountants will go on an indefinite strike from October 11 demanding that the state government fulfil their various demands.

They will protest at Freedom Park to draw the government’s attention towards their problems, said Karnataka State Village Accountants Association president Andanagouda

“We are facing problems while working on the field. There is no protection for us. Many village accountants have been attacked. We want the government to book those who attack us under the Goonda Act,” he said.

Other demands include correcting disparities in promotions, regularisation of service of village assistants and stopping registration of crops through a mobile app and abolition of Sakala ranking scheme, he said.
