As a lorry transporting dry grass accidentally caught fire at Arji village on Wednesday night, an autorickshaw and a motorbike were also set ablaze during the incident.

The lorry, loaded with dry grass, was parked at Malbar road on Wednesday and caught fire at around 11.30 pm. Since there was a huge crowd following the annual fest at Muttappa Temple nearby, the lorry driver drove the lorry to Arji village, half a km away from the spot, to prevent a possible disaster.

Later, he tried to douse the fire by removing the stock. During this, an autorickshaw and a motorbike parked in the vicinity too caught fire and were entirely burnt.
