On Tuesday, Anusha Lamani lodged a plaint with SP Yashoda Vantagodi after her pleas to local cops went unheeded.

Anusha was allegedly heard speaking ill of an elderly woman. She was then asked to pay a fine of Rs 45,000 by villagers; when she expressed her inability to do so, villagers decided to boycott her.

“I am not being offered work and I can't even move around,” rued Anusha.

Anusha, a labourer, was working in a farm when she called an elderly lady on phone. When the call went unanswered, she dialled an acquaintance of the latter. The people, who overheard her, objected to her words and told her to pay fine.
