Karnataka BJP MLA Prabhu Chauhan's son Prateek booked for rape

Bidar: The Bidar police have booked former minister and Aurad BJP MLA Prabhu Chauhan's son Prateek Chauhan on charges of raping a woman on the false promise of marrying her. An FIR has been registered against Prateek following a complaint lodged by a woman from Hanegaon Tanda near Udgir of Maharashtra at the women's police station.

The complainant claimed that she got engaged to Prateek Chauhan on December 25, 2023. The engagement ceremony was held in the presence of elders at Ghamasubai Tanda in Aurad taluk.

Prateek took her to various places and had a physical relationship under the false pretext of marriage, she alleged and sought legal action against the ex-minister's son.

Chauhan alleged that former Bidar MP and his partyman Bhagwant Khuba was conspiring to finish him politically.

The complaint was registered before the State Women's Commission and at women's police station at Khuba's behest, he said.
