Also on display is another imposing work of sugar art - a 40-feet long war ship.
The cake exhibiton will be held till December 28 and will be open to the public from 11 am to 9 pm.

Other cake models on display at the exhibition include a battleship, a fish tank, a bird cage, and a castle in a jungle.

The one of its kind exhibition, organised by Nilgiris, a chain of retail stores, originally started in 1969 and has also made its way into the Limca Book of World Records. In the past they have created cake models of the World Trade Centre, the Eiffel Tower, the Titanic, the Buckingham Palace and the Mysore Palace, etc.

“We usually choose monuments that are easily recognisable to the general public,” said Sai Uchil, Co-ordinator of the exhibtion. “We had not done Taj Mahal as yet. So we thought we would do it this time.”

As many as ten cake models will be on the raffle. Only 999 tickets are issued per cake. The cake models will be donated to charities upon the close of the event.
