Davangere: The Davangere police have registered a FIR against Harihar MLA B P Harish of the BJP over his alleged insulting remark against Superintendent of Police (SP) Uma Prashanth, on Wednesday.
The KTJ Nagar police have registered a case against the MLA under BNS Section 79 and 132 following the complaint by the SP.
It may be mentioned here that the Harihar legislator
B P Harish had likened the police officer to a dog while addressing a press conference, on Tuesday.
‘Waits like a dog’
The BJP legislator had said, “When the Opposition MLAs come to the meeting, the Superintendent of Police does not even greet them. When the elected representatives from the Shamanur family come, the officer behaves like a dog. The officer waits like a ‘dog’ even on occasions when they arrive late to the events/meetings.”
