Hassan: MLA H D Revanna said that the people should not oppose the selection of Banu Mushtaq, who has a background of decades of struggle, to inaugurate this year's Dasara festival.
Speaking to reporters in Hassan, Revanna said, "Writer Banu Mushtaq has been involved in several struggles for decades. What is wrong in choosing her and giving her an opportunity to inaugurate Dasara festival?".
"A few have been opposing the government for choosing her as she belongs to Muslim community.
"It is not right to divide two religions Hindu-Muslim. We should understand that we are Indian. It is not right to point out fingers on this selection," he opined.
