Belagavi: A woman was allegedly murdered after being assaulted with sharp weapons on her neck and abdomen at Sadashiv Nagar late night on Tuesday.
She was identified as Mahadevi Karennavar, a resident of Ram Nagar.
Mahadevi was 'murdered' while she was returning home after work. Accused involved in the matter and the intent are not yet clear.
Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase and other senior officials visited the spot and shifted the body to mortuary of Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences District Hospital for postmortem.
APMC police are investigating the matter.
