A middle aged woman was brutally murdered at an old building at Felix Pai Bazar in the city on Sunday.
The dead has been identified as Ammuchchi (50).
It has been suspected that her companion, a daily wage labour Sharavana might have murdered her.
Ammuchchi was a dumb woman who had lost her husband four years ago.
She hails from Tamil Nadu and she was leading her life by rag picking.
She was staying in an old building in Felix Pai Bazar with Sharavana in the recent days.
Sharavana is absconding and a case has been registered.
