Entry free

Entry was free for everybody as part of the World Heritage Day.

To create awareness in people about the places of heritage sites, entry was free for Dariya Daulat, Tipu’s summer palace, Somanathpur temple, Jamia mosque and other venues.

Sensitisation

Assistant Director of ASI, Tejaswi said the World Heritage Day calls for a sensitising public on protection and conservation of heritage sites and places of cultural importance.

The ASI has under its control over 10 historic sites in the town, including the statue of Kanteerava Narasaraja Wadiyar.

The ASI has been flying huge baloons on the summer palace of Tipu and on the Sriranganatha Swami temple to educate masses on the need to protect the heritage monuments and structures.
