Youth goes missing in Kapila river, rescue mission on

Fire and Emergency Services personnel have launched a search operation to rescue a youth who is reported missing from Tuesday evening.

The rescue team set out in a life raft, on the Kapila River, in Nanjangud here, for search and rescue.

Mussafir Sharrief (28), a timber merchant, is reported missing.

Police said, that Sharrief, along with four friends, jumped off the bridge to take part in a swimming competition among themselves.

While the other four swam ashore safely, Sharrief failed and went missing.

The fire and emergency services personnel along with the police and the locals are searching for Sharrief.
