Youth held for harassing girl on social media

The Mangaluru South police have arrested a 22-year-old man on the charge of harassing a girl on WhatsApp by posting her picture.

The suspect, Srihari alias Harish, a resident of Kakkinje near Belthangady, had posted the photograph of a girl with a boy of another community and had circulated it on the WhatsApp.

In judicial custody

Police said that a local court has remanded Srihari in judicial custody. The police are also looking for a few more persons involved in the case.

The girl, an office-bearer of a student organisation, had lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police last week.
