ZP CEO promises action against officialSocial Welfare Officer fails to furnish details on maintenance of hostels

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Priyanka Mary Francis has said that she will initiate action against Social Welfare Officer if he continues with the negligent attitude towards his work.

She was speaking at the monthly review meeting held under the chairmanship of ZP President Bhagya Ranganath.

ZP Standing Committee  President Kukkudige Ravindra said that the social welfare officer has failed to furnish details on the maintenance of hostels in the compliance report.
Vice President Shashirekha and ZP Standing Committee (Social Justice) President Kalmaradappa also raised the issue of not providing PF facilities for the cooks working in the hostels run by social welfare department.

Unhappy with the answers given by social welfare department Officer Manjunath, Kalmaradappa said it was not right on the part of the officer to furnish false information in the meeting. The officer has failed to inspect the hostels. On shortage of sand in the district, ZP President directed PWD engineer to initiate measures to ensure that sand is available for the development works in the district.  The work on supply of drinking water to rural areas should be completed on priority basis.

Standing committee President said that the Kitturu Chennama hostel was opened after four days of the reopening of schools following Dasara holidays. Hence, students who had come on the first day had to return home, he said.

ZP CEO warned the social welfare officer of initiating stern action, if he fails to discharge his duties effectively.

PWD engineer said that contractor has been directed to take up the work on Jayapura-Basarikatte road.
