Kerala former state police chief T P Senkumar has reiterated his earlier stand that actor Dileep was arraigned in the actor sexual assault case without proper evidence.
In a social media post following Dileep's acquittal on Monday, Senkumar criticised that it was not proper to arrest a person without gathering evidence and later on trying to fabricate evidence against him.
"Investigation officers should conduct investigations with an open mind and not with a predisposed condition. Cases should be taken forward based on evidence," said Senkumar recollecting that in 2017 itself he had said that Dileep was arraigned without proper evidence.
Senkumar, who is now a BJP-RSS supporter, had retired as state police chief in 2017 June while the probe into the abduction and rape of the actor was progressing.Dileep was arrested in the case on 2017 July 10.
