The Haryana Police today arrested Anil alias Singhania, the alleged kingpin of the Karnal bank robbery case and a member of Delhi's notorious inter-state Neeraj Bawana gang, in Jualan of Jind district.

Four country-made pistols, five live cartridges and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from his possession, a police spokesman said.

At least eight cases of bank robbery, loot, dacoity, theft and those under the Arms Act are registered against the accused in Haryana and Delhi, he said.

The spokesman said that during preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to have committed bank robbery of Rs 9.80 lakh in a bank in Karnal in 2012 with the help of his five accomplices.

He said police had got information about a man roaming on a motorcycle in the Julana area under suspicious circumstances.

A police team immediately rushed to the spot and nabbed Singhania, a native of Singhana village in Jind, the spokesman said.

He would be produced in a court and a police remand will be sought, he said.
