The spat between Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has taken an uglier turn over the use of social media for sharing official information. Legislators of the ruling Congress in the Union Territory have now asked the Centre to act against the Lt Governor as she rescinded a chief ministerial order banning officials from sharing information on social media.

Narayanasamy issued the "Public Services -- use of social media -- instruction issued" a few days back to stop government authorities taking to Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp to share official information.
