In a fresh disclosure that could rock the grand alliance government in Bihar, the BJP on Tuesday accused RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family of usurping the property of industrialist Amit Katiyal.

This is the second such allegation levelled by former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi in the past one week. Last week, he had charged Lalu with ‘grabbing’ the property of industrialist Harsh Kochar.

“I have strong documentary evidence to prove that Lalu and his kin usurped the property of Amit Katiyal in 2014. This trader had set up a beer factory in Bihta when Rabri Devi was Bihar’s chief minister (2000-2005),” the senior BJP leader said.

“On September 28, 2006, Katiyal floated a new company AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd. Lalu’s sons —  Tej Pratap and Tejaswi — and daugh/888ters — Chanda and Ragini — were made directors of the company in June 2014,” he said.

“In 2014, Katiyal transferred all his shares to Tejaswi (1,500 shares) and Rabri Devi (4,000 shares). And now the AK Infosystems is in complete control of Lalu’s family, where his daughters continue to be directors,” said Modi, adding that AK Infosystems has land worth crores in Patna.

It should be investigated as to how Lalu and his family invested Rs 55,000 in the firm and became owner of land worth crores in a few years, Modi said.
