Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has tested positive for Covid-19 and been admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai.
The condition of 92-year-old Lata Didi, as she is popularly known, has been described as stable.
She is currently admitted to the ICU of Breach Candy Hospital and Research Centre in south Mumbai.
“She is doing fine; has been kept in ICU only for precautionary reasons considering her age. Please respect our privacy and keep Didi in your prayers,” her niece Rachana was quoted saying.
Meanwhile, leader of opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis extended her wishes for speedy recovery.
“Wishing speedy recovery to Lata Didi…I pray she recovers fast,” Fadnavis said.
