The two terrorists had allegedly masterminded the serial bomb blasts in Bangalore on July 20, 2008.
The police team landed at the Bengaluru International Airport around 7.30 pm, said police sources.
Immediately after landing, the police took T Nazir alias Nazir Parvan and his relative Safiquq alias Shafaz Samsuddin to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
The duo was arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) troopers from Umkrem near Dawki along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya on Wednesday morning.
Nazir, 25, has reportedly admitted to police interrogators in Shillong about their involvement in the serial blasts that rocked Bangalore.
Police sources told Deccan Herald that the duo knew Malayalam and a bit of Hindi and Urdu. Inspector General of Police (Kannur Range) Tomin J Thachankary left for Bangalore on Friday night and is expected to be in the City on Saturday to help in the investigation process. Nazir is alleged to have been involved in the terror attack at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
Nazir, believed to be the LeT’s South India chief, has made some startling revelations about the Lashkar activities in India and its links with other outfits, the sources added.
The LeT cadres had been in Bangladesh for nearly a year and intended to shift their base to Dubai following the crackdown by Bangladeshi security forces, said the police.
Meanwhile, the Kerala police have also requested their Meghalaya counterparts to hand over Nazir, as he is wanted in connection with various terror-related cases in the state.
