Akshay Kumar’s admission came before Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is also the state Home Minister, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Iqbal Singh Chahal, other top police brass and actor Rani Mukherjee during the launch of Cyber Awareness Month October 2025 in Mumbai at the state police headquarters.

The incident involving the teenage daughter of Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, an actor-turned-author, happened a few months back.

“I want to tell you all about an incident which happened at my house a few months back. My daughter was playing a video game, and there are some video games that you can play with others as well. You are playing with an unknown stranger. While you are playing, sometimes a message comes from the other side…fantastic, you are superb, well played, thank you…all courteous messages, very respectful,” he said.

“Then a message came, Are you male or female? So she replied female. And then he sent a message asking her to send nude pictures of hers...my daughter switched off the whole thing and she went and told her mother, my wife. This is how things begin. This is also a part of the cyber world…at some times kids get carried away,” the Khiladi star said.

Akshay Kumar urged the Chief Minister to teach about cyber issues and the issues about the digital world in schools. “Our children should learn…every week for standards seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth standards, there should be a period called cyber period where children should be explained about it. You all know that this crime is becoming bigger than street crime. It is very important to stop this crime…this is a small little thing that was in my mind and wanted to share,” the veteran star said.

Meanwhile, Fadnavis said that the ‘Golden Hour' is important in cyber fraud cases and the sooner a complaint is filed the easier it is to save and recover the amount stolen.

"Just like the life of an accident victim can be saved if treatment is received in the 'Golden Hour', in the same way, cyber crime can be detected and the amount can be saved if the complaint is filed during the Golden Hour,” he said.
